Meet Our Three Newest Board Members!

This week, we are welcoming three outstanding new members to our Board of Directors. We are grateful to these remarkable individuals for lending their time and talents to our team, and we are so excited to get to work fighting for racial equity and economic opportunity for all.

Allison Powers is a partner at Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg LLP. Alison was born in Jamaica and immigrated as a child to the Bronx, where she experienced the harms of segregation and educational racism first-hand. She found her way to Northwestern University on a full needs-based scholarship, and eventually went on to law school and Big Law. Allison previously clerked for and served for several years on the Young Professionals Board of CGLA and is familiar with the racial and economic disparities affecting persons with criminal records. In addition, her experience handling employment discrimination and civil rights matters is a tremendous asset.

Thank you Allison for joining our team!

Matthew Miller is a partner in Ice Miller LLP’s Public Finance Group. As the chair of his firm's racial justice task force, Matt is passionate about solving issues related to racial equity. Matt also serves on the Chicago Bar Foundation’s Racial Justice Working Group, and as a member of the Shriver Center on Poverty Law’s Professionals’ Council.

Welcome Matt to our Board!

Adam Diederich is a partner at Schiff Hardin LLP. Adam has been a superstar volunteer with Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for many years, representing students in administrative hearings to intercept the school-to-prison pipeline and in civil rights actions.

We honored him with our Young Lawyer Pro Bono Award in 2016, and we are honored now to have him join our Board of Directors.
