Key Victory in Wisconsin Partisan Gerrymandering Case

The Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights today received a resounding victory in a decision from the Court in the Wisconsin partisan gerrymandering case, denying the defendants’ motion for summary judgment.  The decision means this precedent-setting case aimed at ending gerrymandering in the states will go forward to trial at the end of May;  the opinion shows that the Court understands and appreciates our basic arguments.  This case has the potential to be as important as the one-person one-vote cases that are central to our constitutional structure.  Read the opnion here.
